Christine H. Chen was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Madagascar before settling in Boston where she worked as a research chemist. She speaks Cantonese, French, and writes short fiction in English. Her stories have been published in numerous literary journals such as The Pinch, Fractured Lit., SmokeLong Quarterly, CRAFT, Time & Space Magazine, and anthologized in Best Microfiction, Best Small Fictions, Wigleaf Top 50 Very Short Fictions 2023 among others. Her work has received Best of the Net, Best American Food Writing, and Pushcart nominations. She is a recipient of the 2022 Mass Cultural Council Artist Fellowship, and the co-translator from French of the hybrid novel My Lemon Tree (Spuyten Duyvil, 2023).
